The German champion Bayern Munich got a sporting director but didn`t want to announce his name. The executive director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said only that it was not about Miroslav Klose.
The No. 1 scorer in the history of the World Championships will stay on the job at the club but will perform similar functions on his current work with sponsors and organizing of PR activity.
`The name of the new sporting director must be confirmed by the Supervisory Board. I leave the pleasure of the President Uli Hoeness to announce. I am not going to comment on whether it comes to our former player. We have never had a doubt that we will again have a sporting director. For one year we have been waiting for Philipp Lahm, but unfortunately, things didn`t work out. The important thing is the man to be a bridge between the coach and club analyzed by record of fixed football games management team. If things are going well, then the sporting director may enter the Board.`, said Rummenigge.
