The tennis world number Rafael Nadal filed a lawsuit against former French sports minister Roselin Basello for defamation, Mark said.
The case is a statement by Basello that the breakdown in Nadal`s career in 2012 is not due to an injury but because of an attempt to conceal a positive doping test. The tennis player called this claim defamation. At the first court hearing there was neither Nadal nor Baslelo. Nadal`s representative in court explained that the ex-minister`s speech has prompted some sponsors to withdraw their support for the tennis player. In this regard, Nadal insists on a compensation of 100, 000 euros.
