Badenholser, who won the award for the second year in a row, congratulated Donovan and thanked the other coaches in the league for their votes and support. The `Senior Coach of the Year` award was about to split between three people after Nick Nurse, who led the Toronto Raptors to the title a year ago, was just one vote behind the two winners. `Mike and Billy totally deserve the award, ` Nurse said. `Milwaukee is the best-performing team in the entire league prediction by fixed-games for the second year in a row, while Oklahom a`s performance exceeded the expectations of absolutely everyone, ` added the Toronto head coach. The award, named after the long-time chairman of the coaching association, Michael Goldberg, is determined by a vote of all 30 senior coaches in the league. This year, in addition to Budenholser, Donovan and Nurse, Tyler Jenkins of the Memphis Grizzlies, Nate McMillan of the Indiana Pacers, Eric Spolstra of the Miami Heat, Brad Stevens of the Boston Celtics, and Frank Vogles of Los Angeles received votes for her. This is the second case in which the award has been shared since 2017, when the co-winners in the poll were Eric Spolstra and Mike D `Anthony of the Houston Rockets.
